How to Set Up Auto-Reorder
Auto-reorder automatically places purchase orders when a product's stock drops below a threshold you define. This is ideal for high-volume consumables with predictable demand, such as straws, napkins, and paper towels.

Prerequisites
- You need an active distributor relationship for the product. Auto-reorder cannot work without a connected distributor.
- The product must have a configured low stock threshold.
Steps
-
Click Inventory in the left sidebar.
-
Select the location where the product is stocked using the Location dropdown.
-
Click the settings gear icon on the product card to open its detail view.
-
Find the Auto-Reorder toggle and switch it to ON.
-
Configure the auto-reorder settings:
- Trigger Threshold -- the stock level at which an order is automatically placed (e.g., below 200 units).
- Order Quantity -- how many units to order each time (e.g., 500 units).
- Preferred Distributor -- which distributor receives the auto-generated order.
-
Click Save.
When to use auto-reorder
Auto-reorder works best for products that are:
- High-volume consumables with steady, predictable demand (straws, napkins, paper towels).
- Sourced from reliable suppliers with consistent lead times.
- Non-seasonal -- demand does not swing dramatically week to week.
Avoid using auto-reorder for:
- Alcohol and regulated items that may require approval workflows.
- Seasonal or event-driven products where demand varies significantly.
- Expensive specialty products that benefit from manual review before ordering.
Auto-generated orders follow the same lifecycle as manual orders (Draft, Submitted, Confirmed, Shipped, Received, Completed). You can review and cancel auto-orders before the distributor confirms them.
