How to Close Your Account

If you no longer need ReRoute AI, you can close your own account from Settings -- no need to contact support. Closing stops billing immediately and gives you a 30-day window to change your mind before your data is permanently deleted.

Before you start: accounts with child accounts

If your account has other brands or properties grouped under it as child accounts (see How to Set Up Your Organization) and any of them are still active, you must close each of those first. The Danger Zone will list which child accounts are blocking you if you try to close before they're done.

Step 1: Open the Danger Zone

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.
  2. Scroll down to the Danger Zone section.

Only a Tenant Admin or Corporate Admin can close an account.

Step 2: Close your account

  1. Click Close account.
  2. Optionally tell us why you're leaving -- this helps us improve, but it's not required.
  3. Type your account's name exactly as shown to confirm. The Close account button stays disabled until it matches.
  4. Confirm. You'll be signed out of ReRoute AI immediately.

Closing your account is a serious, time-limited action. Read "What happens when you close your account" below before you confirm.

What happens when you close your account

  • Billing stops immediately. Your Stripe subscription is canceled the moment you confirm -- you will not be charged again. There is no refund or credit for the remainder of your current billing period.
  • Access is disabled right away. Every user on your account is signed out and can no longer log in, starting immediately -- not just you.
  • You get a 30-day grace period. Your account and all of its data -- inventory, orders, forecasts, and reports -- are kept exactly as they were for 30 days. Nothing is deleted yet.
  • You can reactivate yourself, any time during those 30 days. Log back in and you'll see a banner offering to reactivate your account. Reactivating restores full access to your account and all of its data. Because your subscription was already canceled, you'll be asked to re-subscribe to resume using ReRoute AI.
  • After 30 days, your data is permanently deleted. If the account is not reactivated before the grace period ends, we run a one-time deletion of your account's data. This cannot be undone after it runs.

What is kept after deletion

A small amount of information is kept even after your data is otherwise deleted, because law or standard financial practice requires it:

  • Your historical sustainability / carbon footprint ledger entries.
  • Billing invoices and payment records (we keep your Stripe customer record and invoice history for tax and accounting purposes; your subscription itself is still canceled).
  • Audit logs of account activity, retained for security and compliance purposes.

Everything else -- your inventory data, orders, forecasts, reports, uploaded files, and user accounts -- is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered once the 30-day grace period ends. Backups that may still contain deleted data age out and are overwritten on their own routine schedule shortly after.

Reactivating your account

As long as you're still inside the 30-day window:

  1. Log in with your usual credentials.
  2. You'll see a banner stating your account is scheduled for closure, with the exact date it will be permanently deleted.
  3. Click Reactivate account.

Your account and all of its data are restored immediately. Since closing canceled your subscription, you'll be prompted to review and restart your subscription before you can continue using ReRoute AI.

Once the 30-day window has passed, reactivation is no longer possible -- at that point the only option is to sign up again as a new account.

note

If you only want to pause being charged without closing your account and losing your data, use the Manage billing link in Settings instead, which takes you to the Stripe billing portal. Closing your account is a separate, more permanent action intended for when you no longer want to use ReRoute AI at all.
